Accepting the fact that his name now carries enough weight, and comes with enough of a guaranteed audience, to not even need the name of his latest film to fill cinemas worldwide, Quentin Tarantino has just seen a new minimalist poster for his next movie (which happens to be called Django Unchained) released online (now available to view below).
Starring Jamie Foxx (The Kingdom) as the titular Django, Unchained will follow the freed slave as he teams up with a bounty hunter (Inglorious Basterds’ Christoph Waltz) and attempts to free his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington, Ray) from the clutches of the evil ranch-owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio, Inception), and his right-hand-slave Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson, Pulp Fiction).
Co-starring Justified’s Walton Goggins (possibly best known for his role in The Shield); who described Django Unchained as “a movie that only Quentin Tarantino could make”; Kurt Russell (Death Proof), Don Johnson (Machete), James Remar (Dexter), Gerald McRaney (Deadwood), and Sacha Baron Cohen (The Dictator), Django is not only Tarantino’s first western, but has been partially filmed on the set previously used by HBO’s Deadwood, and is due to be released on December 25th (otherwise known as Christmas Day) in the US, before making its UK release date on January 18th 2013.
