There’s no denying the success of the Need for Speed video games, which now number a total of 18 entries in the franchise, with producers EA Games still releasing a new Need For Speed every year, and obviously spotting the potential in such a series, Dreamworks’ have just purchased the rights to make a Need For Speed movie.
While many gamers noted how Need For Speed apparently took a great deal of its cues from the first Fast and Furious movie (with Need For Speed: Underground), there’s no doubt Dreamworks will be hoping their franchise; which will begin with a film scripted by Real Steel’s John Gatins; can go on to replicate the success of that very same OTT and inexplicably enjoyable franchise.
