In a time of ups and downs for The Huntsman (the upcoming sequel to Snow White And The Huntsman), we’ve movement on two major names; as Emily Blunt (the Looper star now receiving a lot of recognition for her role in Into The Woods) is currently in negotiations to join the film, but director Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, and the man who brought The Walking Dead to TV), has left the production.
Chris Hemsworth (better known as Thor) will be returning as the titular Huntsman, and setting off on a quest to retrieve the stolen magic mirror from the first movie; once again pitting him against Ravenna (the evil witch played by Charlize Theron in the first outing), and her snow queen sister (the part due to be played by Emily Blunt).
With Darabont citing “creative differences” it’s unclear at this point whether or not his version of the script will be used, or if a new writer will need to be hired as well as another director. Though Universal are unlikely to let the project drop, as they’re not only assembling a high-quality cast, but have a scheduled release date of April 22nd 2016 to meet.
