Written by Blood Diamond producer Gillian Gorfil, and due to be directed by Robert Luketic (21), the latest film to attach former Hulk star Eric Bana (more recently seen in Hanna), is an upcoming heist movie that’s simply titled Brilliant.
Following a small time crook who falls in with much bigger criminal fish, and ends up becoming part of a diamond heist that would usually be way out his league, Brilliant will presumably place Bana in the role of the small timer (though that’s not completely clear at this point), and is rumoured to have Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day) co-starring (but again that is nothing more than a rumour at this point).
So far there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding the movie’s release date, or even start date, but as casting has now got underway, and the likes of Bana and possibly Diaz are involved, it’s only a matter of time before more announcements spring from the woodworks.
