While the classic Sam Raimi directed horror movie starring Bruce Campbell will hold a special place in the heart of any true horror fan, The Evil Dead has been remade, and has recently had its first trailer released online; a Red Band trailer which certainly doesn’t hold back on the horror, and can now be viewed below.
The clear, unabashed, way in which the horror and gore shows itself in this trailer should go some way towards easing fans reservations about the remake, as should the fact that both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have served as producers on the new film; which has been directed by short-film director Fede Alvarez, stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood), Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield), Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers), and Elizabeth Blackmore (Burning Man), and will see an unwitting gorup of youngsters accidentally unleash horror upon the cabin they’re staying in when they read the Book of the Dead, when The Evil Dead is released on April 12th 2013 in both the US and UK.
