It was the most eagerly anticipated action movie of 2010, but next year The Expendables will be back with a vengeance, in Expendables 2; which, like the first movie, contains a cast of aging action greats, alongside a crop of new blood, and has just had its first poster released online (now available to view below).
While he wrote, starred in, and directed the first movie, Sylvester Stallone (Rambo) will consign himself to simply acting in Expendables 2; which is being directed by Simon West (The Mechanic), has been written by David Agosto (Big Canyon) and Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboys), and brings back returning stars Jason Statham (The Mechanic), Dolph Lundgren (Universal Soldier), Terry Crews (Bridesmaids), Jet Li (Unleashed), and Randy Couture (Setup), as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator) and Bruce Willis (Die Hard), who both have much larger roles in the new movie.
The new poster also shows newcomers Jean Claude Van Damme (Universal Soldier) and Chuck Norris (Delta Force), as well as Chinese actress Nan Yu (Tuya’s Mariage), though Liam Hemsworth (Knowing) is strangely absent from the testosterone filled, macho, gun-laden poster, but should be seen when Expendables 2 is released on August 17th 2012, in both the US and UK.
