While we’ve already seen various trailers, posters, and images for Fast Five; the latest installment in The Fast and The Furious franchise (now re-dubbed Fast & Furious 5 Rio Heist);; the nearing of its release date has ushered in a new trailer; which made its debut online yesterday, and can now be seen below.
Sticking to the tried and tested mantra of showcasing a number of burly, hair-challenged, men scowling, looking angry, and driving extremely nice looking, stupidly fast, cars in rather dangerous ways; while running away from one another, occasionally stopping to ogle any number of slender bikini babes, and often getting caught up in gunfire and explosions; Fast Five aims to gives audiences everything they expect from a Fast and Furious movie and then some; as director Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) believes that with a Fast and Furious movie “you’ve got to go bigger each time.”
Vin Diesel (Pitch Black) and Paul Walker (Takers) return as career criminal Dominic Toretto and ex-Federal Agent Brian O’Connor respectively, for the new adventure which see the pair in Rio, attempting to turn over a police station for a cool $100 million; whilst a violent drug-lord tries to stop them, and a determined Federal Agent (played by series newcomer, Faster’s Dwayne Johnson) attempts to capture them, by ensuring they never get into a car.
Originally scheduled to be released in the U.K. on June 10th, Fast Five will now be making its way into British cinemas on April 21st, before hitting its U.S. release date on April 29th ,and shouldn’t fail to entertain fans of the series; as not only does the trailer showcase everything the series is known for, but Dwayne Johnson has said “they never stop trying to up the action.”
