Unlike Expendables 3, The Last Stand, or the upcoming Terminator Genisys, Maggie promises to be a very different Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, as despite taking place during a zombie outbreak, it’s less action heavy, and will instead focus on the intense relationship between a father and daughter following a zombie apocalypse; as seen in the, newly released, first images of Schwarzenegger in Maggie (available to view below).
Coming from The Toronto International Film Festival (via Collider), where Maggie is due to receive its world premiere next month, the images showcase Arnie showing his more caring side, as the character he plays; a Midwestern farmer named Wade; cares for his young daughter Maggie (Abigail Breslin, Zombieland), despite being wracked with guilt over the fact she’s been bitten by a zombie, and is slowly turned in to an undead cannibal.
Hoping to secure release following its festival debut, Maggie has been written by unknown scribe John Scott 3, directed by also unknown Henry Hobson, and will co-star Joely Richardson (The Patriot) when it eventually scores distribution.
The 2014 Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 4th – September 14th, and you can find more information on what’s screening on the official site here.
