When Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redmeption director) adapted the graphic novel The Walking Dead for AMC, few could have predicted it would have become the TV phenomenon it has, but thanks to its uncompromising blend of gore, heart, stunning effects, and effectively developed characters, it gained a legion of fans in its short six episode first season; fans who are dying to get a look at season two, and now have the chance, thanks to the series’ first official photos, which are now available to view below.
At over double the length of the first series, the second season of the show (which is currently shooting in Atlanta) will boast 13 episodes, and bring back the cast of the surviving cast of the first series; including Andrew Lincoln (This Life) as Rick Grimes, Jon Benthal (World Trade Center) as his partner Shane, Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) as Rick’s wife Lori, and Laurie Holden (Silent Hill) as Andrea, among others; into more horrifying situations, and a brutal prison, in their zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic, world, that’s due to premiere this October.
