The first trailer for Alex Proyas’ new fantasy film Gods of Egypt has arrived, and it’s as cheesy and over-the-top as you’d imagine.
Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Gods of Egypt tells the story of a young thief (Brenton Thwaites), whose love was taken captive by Set (Gerard Butler), and seeks to dethrone the merciless god with the aid of the powerful Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
Co-starring will be Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Caribbean), Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist), Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Chadwick Boseman (Get On Up). Gods of Egypt will see US theatres on February 26, 2016, before making its way to the UK on April 8.
