Returning to his roots, Alice in Wonderland director Tim Burton’s latest movie sees him move away from his more accessible (and less original) recent work, and back to one of his first projects; Frankenweenie; which has recently had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
Burton first adapted his Frankenweenie tale; which follows the story of a boy who brings his beloved dog back to life after he’s run down and killed by a car; in 1984, for a short film which actually got him fired from Disney (for the misuse of company funds, on a film ‘too scary for young audiences’), but now Disney have seen the error of their ways, and allowed Burton to remake Frankenweenie into a feature length stop-motion animation, which will feature the voice talent of Charlie Tahan (I Am Legend), Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice), and Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice), and is due to receive its 3D release on October 5th in both the US and UK.
