Based on the classic line of toys and comics, and following on from 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the upcoming G.I. Joe sequel; G.I. Joe Retaliation; looks to be upping the ante in terms of action, conspiracy, and big-name stars; as seen in the recently released trailer, and character posters (both of which are now available to view below – poster thumbnails can be clicked to view in full size).
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never) G.I Joe Retaliation will see most of the Joe Team wiped out in a sneak attack ordered by the new Cobra commander Zartan (Arnold Vosloo, The Mummy), and fighting to both save the world, and clear their names, after their framed for capital crimes, and learn the Cobra have the power to drastically alter the balance of power on Earth.
Starring Channing Tatum (Haywire) as Captain Duke Hauser, Dwayne Johnson (Faster) as Roadblock, Adrianne Palicki (Legion) as Lady Jaye, Ray Stevenson (Kill The Irishman) as Firefly, Joseph Mazzello (The Pacific) as Mouse, Elodie Yung (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) as Jinx, Byung-hun Lee (I Saw The Devil) as Storm Shadow, and Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean) as the President of the United States, alongside Die Hard’s Bruce Willis (appearing as the original Joe Colton), G.I. Joe: Retaliation is due to be released on June 29th in the US, before making its UK release date on August 3rd.
