Despite numerous attempts to kickstart the movie over the years (often spearheaded by Dan Aykroyd himself), script changes, potential talent shifts, and a number of issues have left Ghostbusters 3 lingering in development hell for years; something which could soon be changing, as recent reports suggest Bridesmaids’ director Paul Feig could helm the third Ghostbusters film.
Whilst not officially confirmed as yet, Feig is apparently the favourite choice to write and direct a planned reboot which would focus on a largely female Ghostbusting team, though as nothing is officially yet, details are understandably sparse, and it’s not even certain how much involvement the original cast (Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis) would have, or indeed want.
