Warner Bros. have once again begun plugging their big superhero release of the year; The Green Lantern (which had its first footage shown at Comic-Con, to a fairly underwhelming reception); by recently releasing a new theatrical poster for the film (which can be seen on the right), and four minutes of brand new footage from the movie (which can be viewed below).
Debuting the footage at WonderCon (San Fransisco’s annual comic, sci-fi, and movie convention), Warner Bros. have so far received far more positive reactions to the footage than anything they have released before, and are hoping to capitalize on both the recent buzz, and the popularity of The Green Lantern comics, ahead of its big summer release.
Buried’s Ryan Reynolds stars as the titular hero Hal Jordan; who becomes the crime-fighting Green Lantern after he’s recruited into the Green Lantern interstellar task force, and handed a magical Power Ring; and will be starring alongside Blake Lively (The Town), Peter Sarsgaard (Knight and Day), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), and Mark Strong (Robin Hood).
The Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) directed movie will be bringing the power of the Power Ring (which can makes its wearers thoughts a reality) to cinema-going audiences in both the U.S. and U.K. when it gets its 3D release on June 17th.
