After a script leak caused Quentin Tarantino to call of his next movie, things slowly shifted around until the director finally confirmed he will film The Hateful Eight, and after a recent teaser poster was released, and the first teaser trailer accompanied Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, we now have a filming schedule for the movie, and know The Hateful Eight starts shooting in January.
So far there’s very little known about Tarantino’s next western (though if it’s anything like his last film, and western, Django Unchained, fans will be pretty happy with the results), but producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein obviously have a great deal of faith in the movie releasing a statement saying they “are incredibly excited to begin production on The Hateful Eight, as we know this picture will be as innovative, brash and of course fun as all Quentin projects prior. There is, quite simply, no other filmmaker like him, and we are as proud as ever to continue this partnership that started over 20 years ago.”
With Quentin also choosing to shoot the entire movie in 65mm, the Weinstein’s have also promised The Hateful Eight will be given “the widest 70mm release for over 20 years”, meaning stars Kurt Russell (Death Proof), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Bruce Dern (Django Unchained), Walton Goggins (Django Unchained), James Remar (Django Unchained), Amber Tamblyn (Django Unchained), and Zoë Bell (Inglorious Basterds) will all be coming to an IMAX screen near you when The Hateful Eight is released in December 2015.
