Hobbit Finale Gets New Title?

Hobbit Desolation of Smaug 01Almost since it was announced that The Hobbit films would be split into a trilogy we’ve known the final part would be called The Hobbit: There And back Again. We knew it when The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released, we knew it when The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was released, but now it appears things may be changing, and that the third and final movie in director Peter Jackson’s (The Lord of The Rings) trilogy could be getting a new title; The Hobbit: Into The Fire.

So far it’s merely speculation, and the rumours have simply come from New Line studio registering the title as a means of protecting the copyright (should they ever choose to use it), however it’s more than possible that a name-change could be afoot; as the last film was originally known as The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies.

Whilst still only a rumour, and the possibility that the new name registration could simply form the title for a new videogame or other similar project other than the upcoming film, the third Hobbit movie is still moving on schedule, and is due to see Bilbo, Thorin and his company of dwarfs, as well as Gandalf, and the Elves and men looking to stop the dragon Smaug from wreaking havoc, when it’s released on December 12th in the UK, ahead of the official US release date on December 17th.
