Horrible Bosses made an impressive $209 million at the international Box Office last year, so it should come as now surprise that New Line have begun planning a sequel to the film where a trio of disgruntled employees plot to murder their irksome supervisors, and have just hired the original writers to pen a new script.
Director Seth Gordon (who impressively made the first movie for roughly $35 million – which is fairly cheap in Hollywood’s eyes, especially considering the cast) is likely to step behind the camera once again, to film a script by returning screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, and will hopefully be directing original stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day once more.
New Line are keen to have the original trio return (and are looking to drum up the funding to make that happen), but Horrible Bosses 2 will be a long ways off yet; as at this point they’re not even sure exactly which direction to take the movie in, after the plots with all three bosses rounded up pretty nicely at the end of the first film.
