Focussing on a brilliant female surgeon (played by Ayelet Zurer) who discovers her family have been kidnapped the night before she’s due to operate on the Israeli Prime Minister, and receives one demand; kill the PM on the operating table, or her loved ones will die; Hostages is fraught with ethical dilemmas, twists, and constant tension as it works through a gripping 10-part series.
With the US remake (starring Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott) having already aired on Channel 4, and the series finale due to air on BBC Four this Saturday at 9pm, the DVD release is the perfect chance to explore the original hit series which spawned the successful remake, and enthralled the entire nation of Israel, when Hostages is released on March 16th.
