As soon as the Omega Man remake I Am Legend was released back in 2007, and began grossing the $585m it eventually took at the worldwide Box Office, Warner Bros. have been looking to cash in on the story again, and while a prequel was rumoured back in 2008, it seems as things are now properly moving ahead with a fully fledged I Am Legend sequel.
Arash Amel (the scribe behind the upcoming movie The Expatriate) has landed the job of writing the next entry in the franchise; which will once again be produced by Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, though it’s unlikely that Will Smith will be returning for I Am Legend 2, as the first movie didn’t exactly leave much wiggle-room for a potential re-emergence of his character Dr. Robert Neville.
