Best known for playing dopey palaeontologist Ross Geller in TV’s Friends, David Schwimmer is now due to take on a whole different kind of role; as his just been cast as a mob hitman in the upcoming thriller The Iceman.
The Iceman will tell the tale of real-life contract killer/family man Richard Kuklinski (Michael Shannon, Boardwalk Empire), who worked for mob boss Roy Demeo (Ray Liotta, Goodfellas), and hid his double life so well that even his loving wife (Maggie Gyllenhaal, The Dark Knight) didn’t have a clue how he really earned his money.
Adapted from Anthony Bruno’s true crime book The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer, The Iceman is due to be directed by Ariel Vromen (Dankia), is rumoured to co-star Sons of Anarchy‘s Tommy Flannagan, and is due to be released sometime in 2013.
