Reportedly responsible for over 200 murders, Richard Kuklinski (Richie to his friends) was a real-life hitman for the mob who was not only fantastic at his job (and so effective he became known as “The Iceman”), but is now the subject of a new movie called The Iceman; the latest trailer for which can now be seen below (following the newly released UK poster).
Starring Michael Shannon (the Boardwalk Empire star who’s soon to be seen playing General Zod in Man of Steel) as The Iceman, the film will show how Richie managed to live the very epitome of a double life (with his violent job going completely unbeknownst to his family; who saw him as a respectable family man), and trace his illustrious career from the 1950s through to the 1980s.
Showcasing a number of contracts The Iceman fulfilled for the Gambino crime family, his friendship with gangster Roy DeMeo (Ray Liotta, Goodfellas), his tutelage under an assassin known as “Mister Softee” (Chris Evans, The Avengers), and the dangerous relationship held with his brother Joseph (Stephen Dorff, Blade), The Iceman co-stars Winona Ryder (Frankenweenie) and David Schwimmer (Friends), and is due to be released on June 7th.
