After cementing himself as one of the screen’s true Kings of Cool (playing Stringer Bell in The Wire, and following on with a string of hit roles), Idris Elba not only has more Luther coming our way, but has now entered talks to star as the villain in the upcoming third Star Trek movie.
Still lacking an official title, there’s very little known about the plot of Star Trek 3. Though we do know the next outing will be directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6), that Simon Pegg is not only starring but helping with the writing this time out, and the film will likely shoot in June, ahead of a release scheduled for July 8th next year (just in time for the 50th anniversary of the original series’ broadcast).
Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, and John Cho are all set to return as well.
