Directed by The Cell’s Tarsem Singh, Immortals is loosely based around the classic Greek myth of Theseus, and features a huge, and potentially Earth-shattering, war that breaks out between not only the Greek Gods, and the previously vanquished Titans, but also the humans who populated the ancient world; much of which can be seen in the trailer below.
Set after the Titans have already been defeated by the Gods, Immortals sees one specific Titan; King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler); searching for a number of mythical weapons in order to free his imprisoned brethren, take on the Gods (in a round-about-way), and declare war on humanity.
While the Gods themselves are forbidden from intervening in the affairs of men for some reason; meaning Zeus (Luke Evans, Robin Hood), Old Zeus (John Hurt, Alien), Athena (Isabel Lucas, The Pacific), Poseidon (Kellan Lutz, Twilight), and the rest basically sit on the sidelines; Zeus does however pick a champion named Theseus (Henry Cavill; The Tudors star who’s soon to be seen as the next Superman in the upcoming Man of Steel), to lead the human army, stop the rampaging Titans, and hopefully save not only the entirety of humanity, and the Earth, but also the Gods themselves.
Also starring Frieda Pinto (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Blade’s Stephen Dorff, Immortals has been created by the team who gave the world 300, and is sure to contain a plethora of eye-popping action sequences when it’s released in Real D 3D and Digital 3D on November 11th, in both the US and UK.
