While you may expect a movie based on a racing video game franchise to be nothing but a shameless cash-in (featuring flash cars, plenty of driving, and little else), it appears as though Dreamworks are going in a different direction with their adaptation of the Need For Speed games, and have just added Fright Night’s Imogen Poots to the cast-list.
Poots will star as an exotic car dealer who sources some of the more high-end cars for the wealthier racers, and co-star alongside Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul (who was recently cast as the lead, and will soon be seen alongside Poots in A Long Way Down), in the film which director Scott Waugh (Act Of Valour) aims to infuse with the spirit of the classic ‘70s car movies ready for its official release on February 7th 2014.
