While it appears as though the third series of The Inbetweeners will be its last, the show is far from dead; as the boys that make up the hapless band of sixth-formers not only have an Inbetweeners movie planned and underway, but are soon to embark on a comedy road-trip for Comic Relief.
As you’d expect with The Inbetweeners crew, it’s going to be a Rude Road Trip, where the boys; Simon Bird (Will), Joe Thomas (Simon), James Buckley (Jay), and Blake Harrison (Neil); will be visiting various locations across Britain, with the rudest names they can find; including stop-offs at Minge Lane, Titty Ho, and Bell End (all of which are real places).
Beginning at Bush Lane in London, the lads will be departing today (Tuesday Jan 18th) at 12pm, and finishing their trip this Thursday (Jan 20th); after hopefully visiting a planned 50 locations, in only 50 hours, taking numerous pictures at each destination, and being filmed for the full 50 hour journey to the finish line; at a mystery location.
Plenty of banter, rude jokes, funny place-names, and giggles are expected along the journey; which the cast will be completing in the show’s signature yellow Fiat, and hoping to end having made a good deal of money for charity (donations to Comic Relief, via The Inbetweeners trip, can be placed here: http://www.comicrelief.com/donate/inbetweeners
And while footage from the trip will be available to download from iTunes from February 3rd (when Red Nose Day officially kicks off), this isn’t the last time The Inbetweeners will be seen together on-screen, as an Inbetweeners movie is currently in the works; and will see the boys going on their first ever lads holiday abroad.
A couple of short scenes have already been filmed for the movie, but the main bulk of production is scheduled to begin in the next couple of weeks; taking place in both London and Spain; where the boys will indulge in everything that typifies a real lads holiday; including drinking, girls, and sunburn.
The Inbetweeners movie is scheduled to be released on August 19th, but if you’re a fan of the show there’s still time to get involved with the film; by becoming an extra (either in London or Spain); simply by following the instructions outlined here: http://www.e4.com/inbetweeners/film-application.html
