‘Nothing has been the same since New York’ begins the strangely solemn and reflective Avengers’ survivor Tony Stark (once again played by Robert Downey Jr.), who’ll soon be jetting out on his latest solo adventure in Iron Man 3, and looks to be having a much, much, tougher time than usual; as seen in the full Iron Man 3 teaser trailer, which is now available to view below.
With Ben Kingsley’s (Prince of Persia) Mandarin (the mysterious, and until now faceless, man behind some of the more evil goings on in films 1 & 2) looking to show the world that there are no heroes, and truly bring Stark to his knees, Iron Man 3 will see Stark’s mansion reduced to rubble, the love of his life kidnapped, have him suffering from nightmares, and bring new and improved (yet apparently bothersome) Iron Man suits, to the Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) written and directed movie.
While Jon Favreau may have stepped down from the director’s chair this time out, he’ll still be appearing as Stark’s bodyguard Happy, alongside returning stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, and newcomers Guy Pearce (Prometheus), Rebecca Hall (The Town), William Sadler (Man on a Ledge), and James Badge Dale (The Departed), when Iron Man 3 is released on April 26th next year, before making its official US release date on May 3rd 2013.
