Due to be directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor), and star Mark Wahlberg (Ted 2), Patriots’ Day will re-tell the tale of events surrounding the bombing of the Boston marathon on April 15th 2013, and has just gained its latest star; Whiplash‘s J.K. Simmons.
Wahlberg will be starring as a composite of several real-life Boston P.D. officers who proved instrumental to narrowing the list of suspects, and the following manhunt, while Simmons will play Sergeant Keffrey Puglies (who eventually fought the suspects), in the Matt Charman (Bridge Of Spies) written film which has no official release date as yet.
