While it may have had a rather troubled production so far; going through three major actors (including Michael Fassbender; who bowed out due to a scheduling conflict with X-Men: Days Of Future Past), and seeing director Lynne Ramsay (We Need To Talk About Kevin) abandon the film on the first day of shooting, as well as having a constantly shifting release schedule; the upcoming western Jane’s Got A Gun is still very much on the horizon, as you can tell from the film’s first images (which are now available to view below).
Starring Natalie Portman (Black Swan) as the titular Jane, the upcoming western/thriller will see a woman hiring her ex-lover (played by Exodus: Gods & Kings’ Joel Edgerton), to help save her new husband (Noah Emmerich, The Walking Dead) from the criminals who’ve made it their mission to kill him.
With Warrior’s Gavin O’Connor stepping in as director, and Trainspotting’s Ewan McGregor playing the part of the villain (replacing Jude Law, who took the part after Fassbender left), Jane’s Got A Gun had already had its release date moved several times, but is currently slated for release on Spetember 4th in the US (though while we know Lionsgate will be distributing over here, there’s still no official UK release date announced as yet).
