The cast of the Twin Peaks revival is started to get pretty crowded, with Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee returning, as well as new faces Balthazar Getty (The Judge), Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables), Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern), and Robert Knepper (Prison Break). There’s also word of David Lynch wanting Mulholland Drive star Naomi Watts to feature, but it’s been (somewhat) confirmed that Jennifer Jason Leigh will also appear in the show.
Deadline got the scoop, and although the announcement wasn’t officially confirmed by Showtime, her involvement was revealed thanks to paparazzi photos. They show Leigh filming a scene with MacLachlan in the Mojave desert, with Lee also seen on set.
Twin Peaks will be somewhere between ten and 18 episodes long, with Lynch to direct every single one of them. The show was co-written by original series creators Lynch and Mark Frost. For now, we’re going to have to guess at what will take place, as plot details continue to be kept under wraps.
