After having earned an Oscar nomination for playing a bank robber in The Town, Jeremy Renner will soon be returning to the other side of the law (on screen at least), as he’s just signed on to produce and star in the upcoming adaptation of J North Conway’s non-fiction book King of Heists.
Due to be scripted by Will Staples (Call of Duty), King of Heists will chronicle the life of George Leslie; who arrived in New York in the 1860s, put together a special team, and managed to pull off a heist of the prestigious Manhattan Savings institution (getting away with around $3 million) so brilliant, that nobody even suspected he was involved until after his death.
There’s no official release date scheduled for King of Heists as of yet, though anyone wishing to catch Renner on the big screen will soon be able to see him in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (December), and in both The Avengers (May) and The Bourne Legacy (August) next year.
