Following the unexpected success of the first film, John Wick 2 shot straight into production (with filming beginning back in autumn last year) and we now have an official title and release date; with John Wick: Chapter Two due to be be released early next year.
Keanu Reeves will be back as the titular gun-fu expert, with supporting stars John Leguizamo, Ian McShane, Bridget Moynihan, and Lance Reddick also returning, alongside series newcomers Ruby Rose (Orange Is The New Black), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix), Peter Stormare (22 Jump Street), and Common (Hell On Wheels).
Little is known about the plot aside from the fact some of the action will take place in Rome, but we do know director Chad Stahelski has said “without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original” and “we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we’ll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome.”
So it sounds like John Wick:Chapter Two will be one to watch when its released on February 10th next year in the US. No official UK release date has been announced, though we’re hoping UK audiences won’t have to wait months for the release as we did with the first film.
