Celebrating Batman Day this past Saturday, director Zack Snyder took to Twitter to post the first official image (available on the right) of Whiplash‘s J.K. Simmons in character as Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming DC superhero movie Justice League.
With Batman, Wonder Woman, and presumably Superman (returning stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Henry Cavill respectively) teaming up once again to save the world from yet another dangerous threat, Justice League will also see Bruce Wayne assembling a team of like-minded heroes; The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), all of whom were briefly introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice; to help when the time comes.
The time (otherwise known as the release date) being November 17th 2017, following the June release of Wonder Woman’s solo film (a BvS prequel), but before both Aquaman and The Flash get their own solo adventures in 2018.
Ben Affleck’s Batman, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg are also due to receive their own standalone movies, though no release date has been confirmed, and if it comes to the crunch we’d put money on Cyborg being bumped to make room for Margot Robbie’s planned Harley Quinn movie.
