Coming from Entertainment Weekly, below you’ll find the first look at King Arthur: Legend of the Sword; the upcoming epic action movie from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows director Guy Ritchie, starring Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) and Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes).
Hunnam (pictured here in a much more conventional manner than the first photos we saw of him in the role – one of which is on the right) will be starring as the titular monarch; whom he describes as “a bit rough around the edges, basically a survivor” and someone with “a harder edge than people would imagine”; and pitted against Law’s villainous Vortigen, Arthur’s uncle, and murderer of his parents, including Uther Pendragon (Eric Bana, The Time Traveler’s Wife).
Djimon Hounsou (The Legend of Tarzan), Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones), Tom Wu (Batman Begins), Katie McGrath (Jurassic World), Astrid Bergès-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), and even David Beckham (best known for kicking the odd football) will co-star in the film which will trace Arthur’s journey from originally claiming Excalibur to leading a rebellion against his uncle and seizing his destiny as king, when it’s released in march 2017.
