After the surprisingly fun Kingsman: The Secret Service made waves last year, fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel. Development is fully underway, and a new star has just entered talks to play the villain; Julianne Moore.
The Assassins starlet has been known to ham-it-up in the past (see Seventh Son), but would have big shoes to fill should she sign on and replace Samuel L. Jackson’s big bad from the first movie. Still, much depends on her availability, as the Still Alice star is very much in demand at the moment.
Kingsman 2 (whatever the final title ends up being) will further the adventures of chav-turned-gentleman spy Eggsy (Taron Egerton – who recently teased a suit-fitting photo via social media), apparently seeing him affect problems on the world stage, and will be once again scripted by Matthew Vaughn (who’ll also return to direct) and Jane Goldman, when it’s released on June 16th next year.
