Best known for playing the bastard son of Sean Bean’s Ned Stark in HBO’s fantastic Game of Thrones, but more recently seen in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (which also co-starred Sean Bean), Kit Harington has now landed his next movie role; headlining Paul WS Anderson’s upcoming Pompeii.
Anderson (who’s best known for delivering the Resident Evil series of films; the latest of which is reviewed here) will be directing the film which has been in development for several years, and focusses on a romance caught up in the true-life tragedy that struck Pompeii (the infamous ancient city which was engulfed by the lava flowing from a nearby volcano).
Harington will find himself working as a slave in the great city, and racing against time to not only rescue his best friend (a gladiator trapped in the arena), but save his master’s daughter (who just so happens to be his one true love), before the fires of Mount Vesuvius can consume them all, when Pompeii begins filming next year.
