Included as part of a recent deluge of exclusive content over at Entertainment Weekly (which also saw EW dropping images from Guy Ritchie’s upcoming King Arthur movie, the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower novels, and the standalone Wonder Woman film) below you’ll find a brand new image from Kong: Skull Island.
While the plot for Kong: Skull Island still remains largely under wraps, we do know it’ll feature a band of explorers heading to the titular island and coming into a version of King Kong which director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) describes as “by far the biggest Kong you’ve ever seen on screen” – as evident by the gigantic skull in the image below.
Unlike previous Kong tales, this one won’t be the typical beauty and the beast tale we’re used to, and certainly won’t feature the giant ape climbing the Empire State Building; it will instead explore Kong’s homeland, and tell an original tale which will eventually lead to a crossover film – King Kong Vs Godzilla.
Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager), Brie Larson (Room), Samuel L. Jackson (The Legend of Tarzan), Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane), John C. Reilly (Wreck-It Ralph), and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) will all star in the upcoming monster movie, which is due to be released on March 10th next year.
