Now know as a true pop princess, Kylie Minogue actually started her career acting on the beloved Australian soap Neighbours, and despite a string of musical hits over the years she’s always been known as ‘the girl from Neighbours’, and may soon be stepping back into the role which made her famous, as part of Neighbours’ 30th anniversary plans.
She’s acted off and on since her two-year stint on the show (appearing in films such as Moulin Rouge! and Street Fighter, as well as having cameos in a number of TV shows, such as The Vicar of Dibley, and the Men Behaving Badly Comic Relief special), but ever since her on screen wedding to Jason Donvoan drew an amazing 19 million viewers back in 1988, fans have been hoping Kylie would eventually return to Ramsey Street.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Anne Charleston (better known as Kylie’s onscreen mum Madge Bishop) said she “will probably be involved, and it will go to air in March [2015]” adding “I think Kylie is on board for the special, and I imagine everyone will be in on it, because it’s a big occasion”; meaning we could see Kylie on the small screen as early as next year, with Charlene returning to Ramsey Street after a 26 year absence.
