After becoming Mr Universe, he rose to become one of the greatest action heroes the movie-world has ever seen, scaled he political world to become Governor of California, and now he’s back… diving into the acting world with both feet Arnold Schwarzenegger can currently be seen in The Expendables 2, has just been spotted in he first official photo from The Tomb, and is now front-and-centre in the newly released trailer and poster for The Last Stand.
The Last Stand places Arnie as a former LAPD officer who, after a badly failed operation, moves to the sleepy border town of Summerton Junction and becomes the Sheriff, only to have his peace shattered when a drug kingpin escapes from the FBI, and heads for the Mexican border at an amazing pace; setting the scene for a showdown in Summerton between the kingpin, the specialized team sent to stop him, and one aging, low-rent, Sheriff (Arnold).
Co-starring Forest Whitaker (Platoon), Johnny Knoxville (Men in Black II), Eduardo Noriega (The Method), Luis Guzmán (The Taking of Pelham 123), Harry Dean Stanton (Alien), and Rodrigo Santoro (300), The Last Stand has been directed by Jee-woon Kim (The Good, the Bad, the Weird), and is due to be released on January 18th next year in the US, before making its official UK release date on January 25th.
