One of Marvel’s most famous superheroes, and the one who really kick-started the whole superhero blockbuster phenomenon, will soon be back on the big screen in the upcoming franchise reboot The Amazing Spider-Man; which has just had two new posters released online (now available to view below).
Placing Andrew Garfield (Never Let Me Go) in the titular role of everyone’s favourite neighbourhood Spider-Man, and his geeky, teenage, alter-ego Peter Parker, Sony’s new reboot will once again tell Spidey’s origin story, and re-introduce audiences to a number of key influences in his life; including his Aunt May and Uncle Ben (played by Mrs Doubtfire’s Sally Field, and The West Wing’s Martin Sheen respectively), and first love Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone, The Help).
Rhys Ifans (Mr Nice) will be playing Spidey’s latest nemesis; Dr. Curt Connors (aka The Lizard); in the Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) directed movie which will also co-star Denis Leary (Rescue Me), and make its 3D release date on July 3rd in the US, and on July 4th in the UK.
