Guillermo del Toro’s latest movie is all about one thing… giant robots, fighting giant monsters, and you can now see the latest trailer for the Hellboy director’s Pacific Rim below, and the newly released IMAX poster on the right.
Said monsters are invaders from another dimension that remain hellbent on our destruction, and cause humanity to rise up, build giant F-Off robots (known here as Jaegers – after the German word for hunter, not the tasty yet debilitating alcoholic drink) and take the fight to the giant monsters… in giant robots, which they use to fight the giant monsters, in the face.
Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam appears as a Jaeger pilot, alongside The Wire’s Idris Elba (playing the war General who’s leading the charge to save humanity); both of whom will be seen onscreen alongside giant robots and giant monsters (who will be fighting), when Pacific Rim is released on July 12th in both the US and UK.
