After numerous sequels, prequels, and remakes, we’ll soon be getting another Texas Chainsaw Massacre origin story; the upcoming Leatherface, which has just had a brand new poster released online (available to view on the right – click to view full size).
As most horror fans will know, Leatherface is the nickname of the masked, chainsaw-wielding, killer we know from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre films, and the new movie will attempt to explore the origins of the character; following a teenage, pre-mask, Leatherface as he escapes from a mental institution along with three inmates and a kidnapped nurse, embarking on “the road trip from hell.”
Stephen Dorff (Blade) is set tot star as a Texas lawman hot on their heels, while relatively unknown stars Sam Strike, Sam Coleman, James Bloor, and Jessica Madsen will play the escapees, Vanessa Grasse (Roboshark) picks up the part of the kidnapped nurse, and Lili Taylor (The Conjuring) will play the role of Leatherface’s mother Verna Sawyer, in the film which is currently in post-production, with an unconfirmed release date penciled in for sometime next year.
