Dropping amidst a landfall of trailers for upcoming Fox TV shows, we’ve now got the first proper look at the upcoming Lethal Weapon TV show, courtesy of the official trailer available to view below.
Starring Clayne Crawford (A Walk To Remember) and Damon Wayans (Major Payne) as Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh (the roles originally played, in the films, by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover respectively), it’s not exactly living up to the legacy of the films, though does try to emulate a number of the key aspects i.e. a reckless and suicidal Riggs partnering with the straight-laced Murtaugh, car chases, and ‘banter’.
McG (Terminator Salvation) has directed the pilot, and will be serving as Executive Producer for the remainder of the series – which, given the clunky dialogue and fairly negative early reception, we shouldn’t imagine will be longer than a single season.
