Firstly, even if it was a good track, you’d be better off waiting until seeing the actual movie to get the full impact of such an important intro song, but for those of you who want to have a listen the new James Bond theme song, the title track for the upcoming Spectre, Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall, can be heard on the right.
While it clearly fails to measure up to the efforts of Shirley Bassey or Tina Turner, Writing’s On The Wall (first heard this morning on BBC Radio 1) will form Spectre‘s title track; playing immediately before James (once again played by a returning Daniel Craig) attempts to thwart the evil efforts of a secret and nefarious organisation headed by a man known as Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained).
Skyfall director Sam Mendes is returning to helm the film, and will see Bond stars Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes (this marking his first full appearance as M) returning to the fray, alongside newcomers Dave Butista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Monica Bellucci (The Matrix: Reloaded) and Léa Seydoux (The Grand Budapest Hotel), when Spectre is released on October 23rd in the UK, before making its official US release on November 6th.
