While we’ve been pretty sure it’s been barrelling down the fury road to release for a while now, we’ve finally had confirmation that a brand new Mad Max collection is heading to home release, and will include writer/director George Miller’s sought-after Mad Max: Fury Road black-and-white edition (known here as the Black-and-Chrome edition).
Two new Blu-rays are soon to be released, with the first being titled Mad Max: High-Octane Collection and containing all four Mad Max movies (Mad Max, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Mad Max beyond Thunderdome, and Mad Max: Fury Road) as well as the “Black-and-Chrome” edition of Fury Road, over five hours of special features, and a feature-length documentary on the 1979 original film.
Secondly a Two-Film Collection containing Mad Max: Fury Road, and the Black & Chrome Edition of said film is also making it’s way to Blu-ray, and will include a special introduction from George Miller (who colour-calibrated the new version himself).
Both releases are due to hit US shelves on October 25th, though so far there hasn’t been a UK release date announced.
