Back in the day you could procure a cyborg which would be better, strong, faster than a man for a mere six million dollars, but to ever-rising inflation the Six Million Dollar Man remake will be titled The Six Billion Dollar Man, and has just placed The Fighter’s Mark Wahlberg in the title role.
Wahlberg’s Lone Survivor director (Peter Berg) is also attached to direct the big screen adaptation of the classic TV show which has been stuck in development hell for a number of years, though while we know Marky Mark will take the role of Steve Austin (the former astronaut who’s given a number of costly scientific enhancements to his body following a near-fatal crash, before signing on to be a special agent for the government), there’s not too many other details available; as the script is due a full rewrite before production begins early next year, ahead of a planned 2016 release.
