Soon to be seen on the big screen in the final part of Peter Jackon’s Hobbit trilogy (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), and fresh from earning Emmy recognition for both Fargo and Sherlock this year, Martin Freeman has just lined up his latest project, and has just entered talks to star in the Taliban Shuffle.
The upcoming black-comedy from has been adapted from the wartime memoir of Kim Barker, charting her time as a journalist in Kabul during 2002 (where she was stationed knowing no foreign languages, and next to no clue how to travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan), and will see Tina Fey (30 Rock, Date Night) star as Barker alongside Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street), and now Martin Freeman (set to star as a photojournalist who become Barker’s love interest), ahead of an unannounced release date scheduled for some time next year.
