It’s been rumoured for what seems like forever, but now we’ve finally had confirmation that Bridesmaids, Tammy, and The Heat star Melissa McCarthy has entered talks to star in the upcoming, female-centric, Ghostbusters reboot.
Due to be directed by Paul Feig (who worked with McCarthy on Bridesmaids and The Heat), the new Ghostbusters won’t necessarily tie-in to the original movie, or it’s sequel, but instead focus on a troupe of female ghost-bustresses with McCarthy (provided scheduling works out, and allows her to lock down a deal) potentially being joined by current front-runners Emma Stone (Birdman), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), and Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) when the film rolls out on a currently unconfirmed release date.
