They are back… in time… according to the tagline for Men in Black III, the upcoming sci-fi comedy which sees Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return as the titular alien immigration officers J and K respectively, and recently had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
As the tagline suggests, the new film largely takes place in 1969, with J traveling back in time (in a rather scary way) in order to stop an alien (played by The Flight of the Conchords’ Jermaine Clement) from eliminating the young Agent K (played by No Country For Old Men’s Josh Brolin), and not only threatening the future of the whole MIB organization, but the entirety of the human race.
Barry Sonnenfeld has returned to direct the franchise’s third installment, which will be its first outing in 3D, co-stars Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League), and a returning Rip Torn (as Agent Z), and is due to be released on May 25th 2012 in both the US and UK.
