Don Cheadle (Crash) will be making his directorial debut with Miles Ahead, a biopic about legendary jazz musician Miles Davis, which has been given its first trailer.
Cheadle will also be starring as the central figure, which follows the iconic trumpeter as he “bursts out of his silent period, conspires with a Rolling Stone writer to steal back his music and relives the years he had with his great love, Frances Taylor.”
Co-starring will be Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting), Emayatzy Corinealdi (Middle of Nowhere), Keith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton) and Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man). The script is co-written by Cheadle and Steven Baigelman (Get on Up).
Davis’ children, Erin and Cheryl Davis, will also be producing. Expect a April 1 release in the US, before it makes its way to the UK on April 22.
