Returning as Ethan Hunt for the fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise Tom Cruise made headlines around the world by dangling from the world’s tallest building (the Burj Khalifa in Dubai), and it should come as no surprise that director Brad Bird (Up) and the people at Paramount Pictures are fully exploiting the expensive stunt, by making it the subject of their latest poster for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (which can now be seen below).
With a cast that includes Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker star who’s been tipped as a possible Cruise successor to the MI franchise), Simon Pegg (Paul), Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Paula Patton (Deja Vu), and Josh Holloway (Lost), the new movie sees Hunt, and the rest of his team framed for a terrorist bombing; which forces them to go on the run, and track down the real terrorists before they can instigate a global nuclear war.
According to the official synopsis “you have never seen a mission grittier and more intense” than Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol; which is due to be released in the US on December 16th, before making is UK release date on Boxing Day (December 26th).
